Self-adhesive, liquid applied, multitype render, loose laid, welded and active sheet membranes prevent the passage of water ingress.
Sheet membranes are typically used for basement tanking and damp proofing, as well as providing a barrier against ground gases. These sheet applied systems have a factory controlled thickness for in-built quality control and are commonly known as a Type A (barrier protection) form of waterproofing. Sheet membranes are an element added to the structure to form a waterproof barrier that will not allow water penetration.
These type A systems can be used in conjuction with type B and type C as defined by BS8102
